Pastor Johnny Trevino has been the head pastor at CCLW since May 2010, prior to that he served at Calvary Chapel Montabello as well as Calvary Chapel Downey. He is an amazing Bible teacher and shepherd. CCLW has been blessed because of his devotion and service and we are looking forward to the future.
1986 was an incredible year for me. Up to that point in my life I had lived for myself, and all the things this world elevates as meaningful. Alcohol, drugs, and pleasure seeking were my priorities. This would lead to the unplanned pregnancy of my girlfriend that I would marry on May 31st, in 1986 while four months pregnant. That would result in the birth of the first of our four daughters in October of that year. A month earlier I would land a job that would provide for this up and coming family with the Los Angeles Unified School District. And one month prior to that I would experience the single most impacting experience of my life. Like a rock thrown in a lake, this decision would ripple in my life to the extent that it would and has affected every single aspect of my life.
In August, 1986 my aunt would invite my wife of three months Roxanne and I to El Buen Samaritano, a Pentecostal church in Wilmington, California. The message would go forth, an altar call would be given, and I would find myself kneeling next to my new Bride, praying to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
From that point on, my life would never be the same. My eyes would be opened to a spiritual realm that I never even knew existed. I am the blind man of John chapter 9. Since then the Lord has taken me on a journey beyond belief. I feel like I’m riding a wave to the shore of God’s glory and I haven’t yet hit the apex. That God has called me to serve in ministry and is using me to affect people’s lives for eternity is beyond belief for me. I have committed my life to Him and I will serve Him as long as He allows me to.
God has blessed Roxanne and I, now married for more than thirty-four years in 2020 with a wonderful marriage. My marriage is by far, my most precious earthly possession. God has loaned us four beautiful daughters: Justine, Jocelynn, Jazmine, and Jamie. Our firstborn has given us our first two grandchildren Isabella and Kai. I look forward to watching our girls continue to grow up as they come in to their own and make Christ their number one priority.
Pray for us as we will be praying for all who would join us as we serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until we go home to be with Him.
Agape, In Christ
